Climate on Madeira
Madeira and Porto Santo are suitable all year round as a tourist destination. Not for nothing is Madeira called "The Island of Eternal Spring" or "Floating Garden of the Atlantic" or "Flower Island".
In the summer months of July to October, the daytime temperatures are at a pleasant 26 ° - 30 ° C.
In the mild winter months, the temperature rarely drops below 16 ° C. It hardly rains in the months of June to August. The water temperatures are always between 18 ° -22 ° C due to the warm Gulf Stream.

Shepherd skewer: "Espetada"
The delicious meat skewers are a specialty of the island. Fresh beef is cut into pieces and seasoned with coarse salt, garlic and laurel leaves. The meat is stuck on long metal skewers (formerly made of laurel wood) and grilled over open charcoal.
In addition fresh farmhouse bread and „Vinho Seco“ are served. The meat, grilled medium, is very tender and smells of laurel and garlic. Often there are barbecues in the villages at the butchers, where one meets a chat, an "Espetada" and "copo de vinho tinto". Delicious!
